The way CBRE works is changing. CBRE now works more frequently and intensively with clients, and thanks to modern communications technology, the firm is no longer tied to a single location. At the same time, new developments are required to meet an increasing number of standards and regulations. Housing is also becoming increasingly complex as a result. Time for a new chapter. The Core is a place where CBRE designs future work environments together with their clients, where innovation comes to life and where entrepreneurship can flourish. Powerplant developed a next level hospitality concept.
Hospitality meets business within the concept by bringing hospitality services closer to the business and blending services so that they add value to each other. The hospitality concept is integral to the office by placing hospitality prominently in the customer journeys of both clients and CBRE employees. Two concepts were developed by enbiun for the Core, the CB café that reimagines how a client is welcomed into an office building and a dynamic kitchen in the workplace, where CBRE finds time to come together as a team.
Right at the entrance to the Kern sits the CB café. The café serves a focused menu of seasonal dishes complemented by a great coffee bar. The café kitchen is centrally located in the space and includes a dedicated counter for hospitality staff. The mix of bar and hospitality counter creates a welcoming space where customers and guests are immediately assisted and offered a cup of coffee. To reduce the footprint of the kitchen, dishes are prepared in the kitchen and finished in the café. The café, open all day, is now a vibrant place used by CBRE staff and clients.
The primary function of the kitchen is to host lunch for the entire office, with a seating area large enough to accommodate the entire office in two sittings. The kitchen is a multipurpose space that blurs the separation between kitchen and sitting area. As a user, you are invited into the kitchen and choose your food from the various cabinets. You are also invited into the kitchen behind the main sofa, where the kitchen can also serve as a workshop. The kitchen's multipurpose setup allows CBRE to host a variety of events, such as Friday drinks or connecting client labs.
Through several workshops with CBRE, we have created services that are there to capture CBRE's culture and turn it into concepts and energetic services. Together with CBRE, we see the design of hospitality services as an essential part of the culture and design of companies and places. To match the ambition for innovation, we also contributed to our clients' The evolution of work event by hosting a Cold Brew coffee bar and an innovation workshop on adding value through service. An inspiring collaboration that will lead to many more great projects.
